Richard III's Crimes Come to Light
False words may hide the truth for a while, but the mirror of time reveals all.
Those who take the crooked path and deceive others will eventually face the consequences.
Repent before it is too late.
Deception may succeed for a moment, but truth outlives it.
Richard’s Rule Meets Judgment
Richard III’s reputation is entangled with the disappearance of the princes in the Tower and later Tudor accounts that depicted him as a murderous usurper. Historians continue to debate particular accusations, but his brief reign ended violently at Bosworth in 1485, where defeat exposed how fragile authority becomes when legitimacy is doubted. The lot uses the traditional moral image rather than settling every controversy: concealed wrongdoing, manipulation, and crooked methods eventually meet evidence, opposition, and public judgment.
Meaning of This Lot

Its practical counsel is therefore specific: career: Severe obstacles; pause and protect your position.; wealth: Finances are weak; avoid speculation.; love: Love is blocked; do not force an attachment.; health: Health is vulnerable; reduce strain.; relationships: Support is limited; speak carefully.; travel: Travel is manageable with care. The overall judgment is bad fortune, so act in proportion to that sign—welcome openings where they are offered, but respect every warning contained in the verses.
