Joseph's Brothers Stand Before Him
Old wrongs return when fate allows the door to open; those who once betrayed may kneel where they once stood
Power has changed hands, and the wheel has turned; the heart must choose—revenge, or let go.
Guard your household, guard your words, guard your deeds; ill will invites deeper shadows.
Let the mind be humble, let the spirit be kind; prayer and virtue are the only safe path.
When hatred ends and mercy begins, peace may yet visit your home.
Let go of grudges, return to goodness, and your family will be spared.
Joseph Faces the Brothers Who Betrayed Him
Sold into slavery by his brothers, Joseph rose through suffering to become Egypt’s administrator during famine. When those same brothers came seeking grain, they bowed before the man they no longer recognized. Joseph now possessed the power to punish them, and he tested whether they had changed before revealing himself. In the end he chose preservation and reconciliation over revenge. The story confronts the danger of old resentment: power can repeat a wound or transform it, and mercy may rescue an entire household.

Its practical counsel is therefore specific: career: Opposition and obstacles surround you; wait and do not advance.; wealth: Gains are slight, losses easy; avoid risk and preserve what you have.; love: Feelings strain under misfortune; understanding is far away.; health: Body weak, energy low; seek rest and careful care.; relationships: Estranged and misunderstood; be cautious, speak less.; travel: Journeys bring trouble and delay; remain close to home if you can. The overall judgment is bad fortune, so act in proportion to that sign—welcome openings where they are offered, but respect every warning contained in the verses.
